Role of cannabinoids in alcohol-induced neuroinflammation

چکیده

Alcohol is a psychoactive substance highly used worldwide, whose harmful use might cause broad range of mental and behavioural disorders. Underlying brain impact, the neuroinflammatory response induced by alcohol recognised as key contributing factor in progression other neuropathological processes, such neurodegeneration. These sequels are determined multiple factors, including age exposure. Strikingly, it seems that endocannabinoid system modulation could regulate alcohol-induced neuroinflammation. Although direct CB1 activation can worsen consequences, targeting components expanded may counterbalance pro-inflammatory response. Indeed, specific modulations have been proved to exert anti-inflammatory effects, primarily through CB2 PPAR? signalling. Among them, some endo- exogeneous cannabinoids block certain mediators, NF-?B, thereby neutralizing intracellular cascades. Furthermore, number able activate complementary pathways, which necessary for transition from chronically overactivated microglia regenerative microglial phenotype. Thus, cannabinoid provides cooperative mechanisms be advantageous resolve pathological neuroinflammation an alcohol-dependent context.

Pivotal role of TLR4 receptors in alcohol-induced neuroinflammation and brain damage.

Toll-like receptors play an important role in the innate immune response, although emerging evidence indicates their role in brain injury and neurodegeneration. Alcohol abuse induces brain damage and can sometimes lead to neurodegeneration. We recently found that ethanol can promote TLR4 signaling in glial cells by triggering the induction of inflammatory mediators and causing cell death, sugge...

P 148: The Role of Cannabinoids in Ischemia Stroke

Inflammation serves a protective function in controlling infections and promoting tissue repair, and can also cause damage to tissue and disease. Many types of cells involved in this process, expressing the components of the cannabinoid signaling system that can be controlled endogenously or pharmacologically. Cannabinoids inhibit neuroinflammation and the immune cells express the whole machi...
